Historic Royalties can go unclaimed due to various reasons such as the person due the Royalties has died and their Executors and or Managing agent were not aware that these funds were unclaimed or something as simple as a change of address has not been updated. Appearance fees can also remain unpaid for the same reasons and the fact that there maybe two or more paying agents involved.
In one case we identified royalties that were due to Mike D’Abo, from the original recording of Jesus Christ Superstar where he played Herod. In order to recover the monies we were in regular contact with Mike and were able to assist him in proving his claim. This included verifying the royalties due, producing historic documents and preparing the appropriate papers to be notarized and submission of the relevant tax forms’. We then managed the claim process and the funds were remitted directly to Mike from the United States.
